This is the time of year when severe weather may result in a no school "snow day". The optimal time frame to make an accurate and informed decision to cancel school due to inclement weather is in the early morning. Meteorologists are consulted, road conditions are checked, and school districts are communicating with each other. When extreme weather is in the forecast, DuPage County Area Superintendents will make every effort to wait until the early morning before a decision is made. If severe weather is forecast, parents are encouraged to prepare your child care options the night before so that you are prepared if a school closure occurs. Your child's safety is our top priority and is at the forefront in our decision-making process regarding emergency closings.
